About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking to hire a Network Administrator in our Brea, California office that has at least 5 years of experience working as a Network Administrator, Newtwork Engineer, IT Specialist or Desktop Analyst, preferably, but not exclusively in a public accounting firm. As an Network Administrator, you will work closely with partners, managers and staff, trouble shooting user issues, managing the firm's virtualisation, systems breakdowns and protecting the firm's resources. 

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, internet access, office systems and applications support).
  • Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software, and applications.
  • Support VOIP phone systems.
  • Performs technology needs analysis.
  • Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
  • Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Orientation and training of new staff.
  • Some travel required ( 3-5 days every other month ).
  • After hours and weekends required as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Education:

Bachelor degree preferred with one or more courses in current technology. A degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is a plus. Education requirements may be waived in lieu of combination of applicable skills, related experience, and Microsoft certifications.

Qualifications:

Five years of verifiable experience as a Network Administrator or similar position supporting a medium sized multi-site network (staff of 100).

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to administer and support Windows servers and desktop products. Specific areas of expertise include Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office, and Windows 7.Demonstrated ability to administer and support VMWare. Familiarity with Hewlett Packard StoreVirtual SAN a plus.
  • Familiarity with Backup Exec, WhatsUpGold, Veeam, Exagrid, SonicWall, and Cisco a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and copiers.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to configure and mount hardware
  • Ability to use hand and power tools for AV, computer and server install and repair.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and partners, both verbally and in writing.
  • Facilitation and change management skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Solid scripting skills
