Job Description:

We are currently seeking to hire a Semi-Senior Accountant/Auditor for our Brea, CA office. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of recent experience working as an accountant/auditor in a public accounting firm. The Semi-Senior will work closely with partners, managers, and staff to facilitate the completion of audit and review engagements.


Responsibilities include:

  • Regularly communicate with management on project status  and problems encountered
  • Perform procedures on all sections of the balance sheet and income statement for an audit, review, compilation or agreed-upon procedure engagements, with limited supervision
  • Prepare financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS with limited supervision
  • Develop self-learning and problem solving skills
  • Perform planning for all engagements including the customization of engagement procedures
  • Be able to work on multiple engagements at the same time
  • Supervise and train staff
  • Be in charge of smaller engagements and lead small teams
  • Research accounting and auditing issues
  • Develop and maintain ongoing business relationships with client personnel

 

Experience and Skills:

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a public accounting firm performing audit engagements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and self-driven for professional growth
  • A strong commitment to provide excellent client service
  • Thorough understanding of accounting debits and credits and audit risk areas
  • Ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment
  • Robust time management and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • CPA license with “A” designation preferred; eligible to sit for the uniform CPA exam
