Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Semi-Senior Tax Accountant for our Brea, California office who possesses the essential functions, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this position. The Semi-Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for performing specifically assigned tasks in accordance with directions furnished by the engagement senior, manager, director or partner. This position is responsible for keeping management informed on the status of their work and of any problems that may arise. This position may assist clients by providing a full spectrum of individual, partnership, and S-Corp tax services including planning, research and compliance. Technical skills are necessary to assist in all tasks associated with tax engagements, including the mentorship and training of Tax staff.




Experience and Skills:


  • Working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Presentation skills and strong organizational techniques are required

  • Highly motivated

  • Capable of managing multiple client engagements in addition to completing tasks related to business development

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree in Business Administration or Taxation or LL.M. in Taxation is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3-years of experience gained within a public accounting firm.

  • Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) preferred

  • Knowledge of tax program software (ProSystem fx Tax or similar) preferred

  • Knowledge of engagement management software (ProSystem fx Engagement or similar) preferred

  • Knowledge of asset depreciation software (ProSystem fx Fixed Assets or similar) preferred

  • Knowledge of time record keeping software (Practice Solutions) a plus
