Job Description:

We are currently seeking to hire a Staff Accountant for our assurance department in our Brea, California office that has at least 1-2 years of experience working as an auditor at a public accounting firm. The Staff Accountant - Audit is responsible for performing specifically assigned tasks in accordance with directions furnished by the engagement senior, manager and/or partner, as specified in the work program or pertinent firm policies and procedures.  

  • Regularly inform the senior, manager and/or partner informed on the status projects and any problems encountered.

  • Apply basic knowledge of business functions, processes and strategies.

  • Prepare financial statements with disclosures.

  • Basic review of client SEC filings.

  • Review engagements or agreed-upon procedures engagements.

  • Understand transactional flow and key transition cycles.

  • Customize basic audit programs.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing business relationships with client personnel.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:


  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA preferred

  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience gained within a public accounting firm.

  • TRAINING: None

  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified Public Accountant license preferred.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Knowledge of time record keeping software (Practice Solutions) a p
